Youth Ski Camp

adapted-skiing-kids

At Camelback Ski Camp children & youth learn to ski and advance their skills in a week-long camp and are coached by Paralympians and our ski staff.

The camp is a wonderful program for youth over age 5 with physical disabilities to learn how to ski, improve their skiing, or learn how to race. We have campers of all ages and abilities, as well as those with a variety of disabilities.

Kids and camp counselors stay at a local hotel for the week, with time set aside for homework, as well as for fun: skiing, movie night, an evening at the Camelback Lodge Indoor Waterpark, and camaraderie with the other campers. A camp nurse is also available at the hotel to help with medical issues and medications as needed.

This Camp has produced two Paralympians!

Our head coach this year is Tyler Carter, who was once a participant with our camp, and is now a Paralympic skier. He will share his knowledge and experiences with the campers while making everyone feel welcome. Our PCAS instructors are also on hand to help teach proper skiing technique.

If you or your child has ever thought “I’d like to try skiing” and didn’t know how, this is the perfect way to try.
